Dr Melissa McCradden
Biography
Melissa McCradden is the Artificial Intelligence Director and Deputy Research Director at the Women’s and Children’s Health Network, and a Fellow at the Australian Institute for Machine Learning. She holds appointments with SickKids Research Institute and serves on its Research Ethics Board. Her work focuses on ethical frameworks for AI in healthcare, with publications in top journals like Nature Medicine and Lancet Digital Health. Melissa contributes to global initiatives such as WHO’s FG-AI4H and reporting guidelines like CONSORT-AI and DECIDE-AI. Recognized among the 100 Brilliant Women in AI Ethics, she holds a PhD in Neuroscience, an MHSc in Bioethics, and was the inaugural AI Ethics Postdoctoral Fellow at SickKids and the Vector Institute.
